Three different speakers for three different points of view

March 21st - 10:00 at DISCo - Klaus Obermaier

Since more than two decades media-artist, director/choreographer and composer Klaus Obermaier creates innovative works in the area of performing arts, music, theatre and new media, highly acclaimed by critics and audience. His inter-media performances and artworks are shown at festivals and theaters throughout Europe, Asia, North and South America and Australia. He worked with dancers of the Nederlands Dans Theater, Chris Haring, Robert Tannion (DV8), Desireé Kongerød (S.O.A.P. Dance Theatre Frankfurt) … He composed for ensembles like Kronos Quartet, German Chamber Philharmonics, Art Ensemble of Chicago, Balanescu Quartet, among others. Since 2006 he is visiting professor at the University IUAV of Venice teaching directing and new media. Also since 2006 he is jury member of the international choreography competition 'no ballet' in Ludwigshafen/Rhein, Germany. In 2005 and 2008 he taught as an adjunct professor for composition at the Webster University Vienna. In 2010 and 2011 he held courses for choreography and new media at the Accademia Nazionale di Danza di Roma. He gives lectures at international universities and institutions.

March 22nd - 14:30 at Hangar Bicocca - Andrea Lissoni

Andrea Lissoni, Ph.D., is an art historian and curator of the HangarBicocca in Milan. Co-founder of xing and co-director of the international festival Live Arts Week-Gianni Peng, he has taught at the Brera Academy since 2001 and at the Università Bocconi since 2007. He is editor of the magazine “Cujo” (after “Primitive” by Apichatpong Weerasethakul, he followed up with an issue conceived by Jimmie Durham). He contributes regularly to Mousse Magazine. In 2011 and 2012 he curated solo shows and exhibitions for some artists: Susan Hiller, at the Fondazione Antonio Ratti in Como; Céleste Boursier Mougenot, Angela Ricci Lucchi &Yervant Gianikian (a retrospective), Wilfredo Prieto and Tomàs Saraceno at the HangarBicocca in Milan.

March 23rd - 10:00 at DISCo - Antonio Camurri

Associate Professor at DIST, University of Genova, Italy. Research interests: multimodal intelligent interfaces; interactive systems; sound and music computing; kansei information processing and computational models of non verbal expressive and social signals; interactive multimodal systems for theatre, music, dance, museums; interactive multimodal systems for therapy, rehabilitation, independent living. Founder and scientific director of the InfoMus Lab. Coordinator and local project manager of EU (IST 5FP, 6 FP, ICT 7FP, CRAFT, Culture 2007) and industry projects. Owner of patents on software systems. Author of more than 180 international scientific publications.
