Special track on Affective and Emphatic Physical and/or Digital Experiences to Human Body

EAI ArtsIT 2023 will be held as an on-site conference and, if needed,
accepted authors who are unable to attend the event in person will be given the option to present remotely.

Call for papers for Special Track on Affective and Emphatic Physical and/or Digital Experiences to Human Body

Scope

The healthy and sustainable survival of the human species on the planet is increasingly challenging, especially when we focus on the quality of this survival in face of the diversity of profiles and socioeconomic, cultural and identity conditions, and when we connect all of them with numerous contemporary problems that negatively impact human beings and their environment. Besides they are responsible for the daily physical and psychological distress, the hardships of contemporary life are also responsible for the countless stressor agents to the human organism. Such a challenge is fertile ground for the areas of knowledge dedicated to the project, such as Arts, Design, Architecture and Urban Design which, in full articulation with digital, interactive and intelligent technologies, are capable of providing affective and empathic experiences to human body.

In this perspective, this special track invites the submission of works which focus on the synergy between the Arts, Architecture and Design areas and the digital technologies, as well as their dialogues with other fields of knowledge such as health sciences, education, and ecology, to offer physical and/or digital experiences which are affective and empathic to the human organism and, consequently, more favorable to its healthy and sustainable survival, in different contemporary scenarios. It is very welcome, but not restricted to, approaches and practices which emphasize preventive and/or restorative contributions to health, well-being and quality of life of human beings in different and complex contemporary realities, through interactive, ubiquitous, immersive, multisensory experiences, extended realities, and experiences mediated by biosensors, artificial intelligence, among others.

Paper submission

Papers should be submitted through EAI ‘Confy+‘ system, and have to comply with the Springer format (see Author’s kit section).

  • Short papers should be 6-11 pages in length.

All conference papers undergo a thorough peer review process prior to the final decision and publication. This process is facilitated by experts in the Technical Program Committee during a dedicated conference period. Standard peer review is enhanced by EAI Community Review which allows EAI members to bid to review specific papers. All review assignments are ultimately decided by the responsible Technical Program Committee Members while the Technical Program Committee Chair is responsible for the final acceptance selection.
