Students are encouraged to join the ArtsIT 2024 Student Volunteer Program. Any full-time university student, at any academic level, is eligible to apply, regardless of whether they are presenting a paper. However, priority will be given to students who have had their contributions accepted for ArtsIT 2024, including the main conference, workshops, tutorials, and similar events.
Dedicated and enthusiastic student volunteers play a vital role in organizing a successful conference. Additionally, serving as a student volunteer provides an excellent opportunity to meet and interact with experts in the field of Arts and Technology and gain academic service experience, which is often a crucial aspect of postgraduate work.
We look forward to receiving your application for ArtsIT 2024!
Benefits
Volunteers get a free student registration at the conference.
*Please note that each paper requires one Professional conference registration, which cannot be waived for student volunteers. If you are an author, ensure that one of your co-authors registers and pays the full fee as required for your publication.
Expectations
This year, EAI ArtsIT will take place at New York University, Abu Dhabi, UAE. You must be willing to work during the conference. Furthermore, you must be available for orientation on Tuesday, November 12, before the conference begins. Your Student Volunteer duties will include: working the registration desk on-site, helping with the setup of the conference environment, providing assistance to speakers and attendees, setting up workshop sessions and more. If you cannot commit yourself to this time frame and this amount of work, then please do not take away a slot from another willing student.
Eligibility
All full-time undergraduate and graduate students with an interest in Arts and Technology or related fields are eligible. We will take into account both the geographic distance from the conference and the diversity in research areas. Some additional factors that will impact the selection of volunteers are:
- – Accepted publication or presentation at ArtsIT2024.
- – Strong English communication skills.
- – Prior event organization experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- – The allocation of volunteers from different regions, institutions, and research groups will be balanced to promote diverse participation.
- – Students from underrepresented backgrounds are highly encouraged to submit applications.
